Privacy policy
Version 1.0 · August 23, 2026
Who is responsible
Velar is the adaptive AI-training platform operated from the European Union. For any question about this policy or your data, write to hola@velar.company.
What data we process
Account data: your email address and account status, to identify you and grant access.
Your learning profile: level per competency, paths, reviews and test results. Internally it is processed under pseudonymous identifiers, not your name.
Usage telemetry: technical and product events without free-form content (e.g. “a lesson was opened”), used to operate and improve the service.
The public site uses no tracking or advertising cookies. When you sign in, a technical session cookie is used — essential for the service. Visit attribution (e.g. which link brought you) is stored only in your browser for the session.
Purposes and legal bases
Providing the service (contract): account, paths, tutor and credentials.
Security and audit (legitimate interest): a record of administrative actions and abuse protection.
Product improvement (legitimate interest): aggregated, pseudonymous metrics; we never sell data or use it for advertising.
Where your data lives
The entire platform runs in the European Union (Google Cloud, EU region), including the AI models behind the tutor. We do not transfer your service data outside the European Economic Area.
How long we keep it
Your account and learning profile: while the account is active.
Usage and cost telemetry: 13 months. Free-form text (open answers, comments): anonymised after 18 months. Administrative action records: 24 months (with a compliance archive afterwards). Technical logs: 30 days.
Your rights
You can exercise access, rectification, erasure, objection and portability by writing to hola@velar.company. Erasure is real: account deletion removes your identity and personal information, keeping only pseudonymous records required for security.
If you believe we have not honoured your rights, you can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es).
The tutor and your conversations
Conversations with the tutor are used to answer you and improve your path. Technical telemetry of those conversations is recorded without your message content, and traces containing content are kept at most 90 days on EU systems.
